Onsite Health Diagnostics now offering COVID-19 Antibody Testing
With businesses under pressure to resume activity, employers are scrambling to understand their options to return to work and keep costs under control. We believe the answer lies in segmenting your constituency. Because the virus is more likely to cause severe complications for the older population, Mitch Daniels, the President of Purdue University, suggests segmenting his faculty from his students and focusing his resources on the former.
For other employers, it may not be as easy as separating students from faculty. Fortunately, the common practice of employee health screenings and the data yielded from them, is a relatively affordable solution toward thoughtful segmentation. Several studies on Covid-19 infected patients have found that regardless of age, the chronic conditions of obesity, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and diabetes are correlated with much more severe Covid-19 outcomes. Health screenings data can then be used to identify the low risk group who don’t have underlying conditions from those who do and are therefore at higher risk.
Simple solutions such as temperature screenings may be enough for the low risk group. For the remaining high-risk employees, the company might choose to also invest in:
• Antibody testing to bring peace of mind to those that have already had COVID-19 but don’t know it.
• They may choose to perform virus testing on a regular basis as a pre-emptive measure to catch COVID-19 early on their high-risk group.
Either way, segmentation allows them to focus their limited budgets on helping as many high-risk people as possible. As a national screening vendor with relationships with LabCorp and other partners, Onsite Health Diagnostics is helping companies devise a smart return to work strategy without spending the same amount on everyone. We look forward to doing our part to help companies get back in business.
